Taking X for a test-drive-

By Fivos Averkiou, British and UK natural Body building champion.

As a lifetime natural body builder, I’m proud of the fact that all I have achieved has been through consistent hard work, commitment to detail and good nutrition. I’ve been training now for 20 years and through that entire period, my ambition has always been the same, to progress each and every time I step on-stage.
I am looking forward to the 2006 competitive season with even more relish than ever before. At the beginning of 2006 I was chosen to become one of the proud endorsed athletes of PhD Nutrition and from that moment on, I knew I was going to attack this year with even more vigour than ever before, I intend on competing at every show I can physically attend. At the end of 2006, I want to have competed in:

  1. NPA
  2. NABBA
  3. UKFBB
  4. Muscle mania

Whilst I am a lifetime natural athlete, only 2 of the federations I aim to compete with this year are “drug-free” federations, which means it’s highly likely that I’ll be entering some shows this year at a major disadvantage. With this in mind, quality nutrition and even better sports supplementation is 100% vital as I look to make 2006 my best-ever.

Formula- X- Taking X for a test-drive.
When Jason Rickaby mentioned that PhD Nutrition would be including a “male-only” product in their 9-strong launch range, I have to admit, I was a tad sceptical after all the pro-hormones that have been kicking around these last 5 years. I’ve spoke to hundreds of guys in the gym and across the country that’ve spent £60 quid on a “steroid-replacement” only to find all they gain is a big hole in their bank balance.
So when Jason led me through the ingredients for Formula-X, I was relieved to find that this was not one of those “steroid replacement” products I’ve seen over the last few years.
Jason explained to me that Formula-X was a base-level foundation product. The Alpha-lipoic acid and magnesium/zinc combination would help with my recovery and ability to remain healthy and strong, whilst the 5-methyl-7- methoxy-iso-flavone and hydroxyecdysterone would help me to make the most of the Pharma-Whey and micronised L-Glutamine I was taking at multiple stages during the day. Jason also suggested that the acetyl-carnitine would help with my ability to remain focussed during training and throughout the day. After being led through the reasoning behind the product, I was fully-pumped-up to give it a try from the beginning of my diet.

How I worked Formula-X into my daily diet.

1900- 1 capsule Formula-X

2000 2 scoops PhD Pharma-Whey + omega 3 6 9 liquid.

I’ve been following this plan now since the end of February. As a PhD endorsed athlete, I’ve been lucky enough to use Formula-X as a trial, before it was available to the general public. So I’ve been using the product now for about 8 weeks. As PhD suggest, I’m going to take some time off the product, maybe 2 weeks before re-introducing it into the plan. I’m not going to start banging on about how it helped me gain 10lbs in a week, or raised my testosterone levels by 500%, or even helped me double my bench press, I’ll leave that to the mugs. What I can say is that throughout the duration of using Formula-X, I felt strong, healthy and recovered enough to be in the gym almost everyday. My big lifts, the lifts I class as my “bread and butter” slowly increased and I felt strong whilst reducing body fat steadily. As a natural body builder, it’s about doing lots of little things right to make one massive difference. Formula-X for me is one of those little things, that when added to the bigger picture will make a huge difference to your training and to your physique.

List of exercises I gained strength on during first cycle of Formula-X:

Incline bench press: Increased 5kg
Barbell Squat: 10kg
Standing barbell curl: 5kg
Rack dead lift from shins: 10kg
Clean and press: 7kg
