Just under 3 weeks to go until I step out on stage in the Miami Pro Fitness Model World Championships. I’m feeling really good at this stage and starting to get excited for the day!
Diet and nutrition at this point is crucial. Daily I am sticking with set macros which I have found work for me. I can't stress enough how much I heavily centre my eating around whole natural food sources, backed up with the supplements I need to not only hit the high levels of protein intake but also to maximise my training and recovery.
I like to stay relatively lean all year round with a natural, aesthetic look. With this in mind, I don't feel the need to do anything too crazy with regards to calories and carbohydrate intake. Some people like to manipulate carbs, and carb cycling is a method I have used previously, but I feel happy to stick with moderate carbs, keeping me fuelled each day.
Supplements I'm currently using are again similar to what I go with most of the time. The supplements I find benefit me the most are:
- Pharma Whey HT+; A fast absorbing source of protein, helping me to get my protein needs quickly post workout. I also use this as a protein source with breakfast. Not only am I getting the benefits of the protein, but also whilst dieting I find the taste great for feeding my sweet tooth. Currently I am using the banana flavour which tastes great.
- VMX² I want to make sure each day I am getting the most out of my training. An hour of intense weight training is perfect at this point in my training regime and I'm using a mixture of weights and rep ranges – including drop sets and supersets. With VMX² you can be sure to get the pump and focus needed for a great session!
- Creatine Monohydrate Creatine is a supplement I will use all the way up to the day of the competition. I don't want to leave anything to chance and with many proven benefits, I use this to maximise strength and recovery.
