When PhD Nutrition were approached in late 2007 as the number-one sports nutrition choice of a superhuman crew attempting a world record breaking feat for charity, naturally we had no choice but to listen. After a few minutes speaking to crew member, Don Lennox, we were so excited that we agreed there and then. The crew of team La Mondiale set off on their record breaking attempt armed with enough PhD Nutrition Synergy-ISO-7™ and Battery+/-3™ to last each man 35 days. Team La Mondiale had become aware of PhD Nutrition through large media exposure and growing word of mouth within the endurance arena. The crew figured that every percent counts when embarking on an attempt at greatness, so no stone can be left unturned when seeking to maximise recovery, endurance and performance.

Record Breaking Crew Testimonials:
“When you’re in the middle of an ocean trying to break a record with no support from the outside world, nutrition and taste counts. PhD allowed our crew to function at the top of their game throughout our voyage. This record stood for 16 years and 60 attempts prior to us were made to break it - we knocked more than 2 days off it - that’s the PhD factor.”

“Rowing across the Atlantic involved two hour shifts on/off, twenty four hours a day for over a month. That’s the equivalent of 8 football matches a day. At 6’2 with a regular build and weighing in at just shy of 14 stone it was incredibly important for me to maintain my weight and keep my protein and carbohydrate levels high. Without PhD supplements my energy levels would have been down and my output would have been less. It’s that simple. As a team PhD gave us the fuel we needed to perform at our optimum, and that’s how records are broken.”

“It is without a shadow of doubt that the PhD Nutrition products assisted the crew greatly during the successful record breaking Atlantic crossing. The products were easy to use, mixed thoroughly with a simple shake (this was a huge necessity whilst we were at sea) and tasted fantastic. Many of the crew looked forward to their serving of Synergy-ISO-7™ after a 2 hour rowing stint and we all used Battery+/-3™ twice daily to ensure we had enough stored energy to achieve our feat, not to mention replacing all the energy we lost during each rowing shift. I would like to thank PhD Nutrition for their much-valued sponsorship of this historic voyage and look forward to working closely with them in the future.”
